Saw an MTA for sale ad said $10,000 call/text for pics and details. Got the pics and some info. Man is it rough! Grill is beat to hell, sheet metal pitted, tires were about 40-50%, said it has a rebuilt engine and T/A but the power steering went so they parked it and it has sat for a year. I told the guy that restored ones in mint condition can maybe fetch 8000 if they are great and someone really want it. I was kinda bummed but He said he didn't have any one else offer. Maybe I'll hound him and bring him to reason. What would be a good price for one in that shape? I was in the 2500 range. Thanks
 
I think you are right on. You are way better off paying more for a better one. And to me the 400 450 or even a 560 is a much better value. I'd like a nice Super H for the higher gearing but I'm not going to pay a premium for it.
 
Its probably worth twice what you offered at an auction. But then again his price is stupid high. I'm with Cowman, a 450 or 560 is a lot more tractor for the money.
 
Probably $3500, you won't find one much cheaper if the seller knows what he has. Unless you just have to have an MTA, get something else for $2500, and be prepared to do some repair work if you intend to use it. At $10000 the guy is going to have it for a LONG time, totally unrealistic.
 
Thanks for the replies guys. It's not so much getting a bigger tractors it's that I want an MTA. I think I'll ask him again and see what he says. If not it just wasn't meant to be.
 
I have six SMTAs for sale. I'll sell most for $2500. Closer to $3000 for the several with PS. These are non runners but complete. I am northwest of Boston, MA by about 25 miles. 01876.
