FARMALL MW 9 SPEED QUESTIONS!!!!!!!

Found a 9 speed today in a parts tractor it hs been setting for a long time anything to lookout for??? Also the shifting cable is shot any ideas on replacements along with the handle for the cable? The rear end had been opened up don't know how much water way have gotten in there but there was still alot of oil in the case. Anything to watchout for s far as gears bearings ect thanks jim.

The best is to buy the whole tranny. It would avoid machine work, and forgotten parts. If the gears are a little pitted (maybe pincil point pits 1/8" apart, I would say no problem. If they are like an orange peel no way. The cable is readily replacable. Jim

Also what is involved in removing it from one tanny and installing in my tractor, I don't want to swap reas since I know mine is good I have replaced alot of oil seals and it has a m&w clutch, and all the castings match.

I think there is some machining needed. The best bet is an install manual. They do exist, I do not have one. Jim

Jim I have a manual for a m m&w 9speed in pdf format that can be e-mailed. Send me your e-mail address and will try to send it to you, my e-mail should be open.

HI < i seen you would send a pdf file for a manual M&W set of gears for a M . Could i be as bold as to ask if youd send me a copy? I am rebuilding a 43 M with a set of those gears in it for a friend. Theres a lot of slop on the gears and im looking at repairing it. Having that file would be very interesting in this rebuild
Thanks Keith
