Manifold Paint

Is there a international red paint that is heat resistant for the manifold. I am restoring a 54 Super H and I don't want a redish brown manifold after it heats up. I painted the manifold black today with a 1500 degree paint. I would rather have it black than redish brown. I've seen other farmalls done like that and it doesn't look to bad but I would rather have it red like it was in 54.

In 54 it was red only until the tractor was operated for an hour. The paint was burnt off right away. Black stove finish (not a real paint) works OK but rquires refinishing every 2 to 5 months. Colby64 has a 560 with a unique finish on the manifold. it will last for many years. Glass finish like it can be had in any color and can be used, but it is pricy. Jim

Black barbecue paint works fairly well and lasts a decent amount of time. Nothing is permanent if you actually run and use the tractor. I've even seen the bright ceramic finishes become significantly discolored.

It was only red when new for about 15 minutes. I just let mine burn off--anything else does not look natural to me.

I think you can get that stuff in different colors, too. I'm not a fan of the silver. I think I would go with black.

Thanks for the replies. I figured with all the technology these days there would be a high temp. farmall red for manifolds but I hadn't heard of it. I'll leave it black.
