The other day I posted that my 300U was blowing water out the exhaust and pegging the temp gauge. I finally got it apart today. I've never encountered a head gasket problem before so I looking for your thoughts. There was water killing both #1 and #2 cylinders when it was running. I don't see a visible damage to head and block. Gasket had slight damage at #1 and 2 cylinder but not sure if was from removing the head or enough to leak water. Can I still have cracks that I don't see. No sealer was ever put on the gasket when the head was done in the early 90's.Do you think I should just try a new gasket or are there other suggestions.

Believe I'd have a machine shop magnaflux the head while you have it off. If it's good, then do the head gasket thing. If it has cracks, you can go from there.

Agree with brownie also take the gasket with you as well they know how to read them if you will.
