removing a block heater on 674D

Hi,

I bought a 674D that has a coolant heater located under the belly of the tractor. It's fed from a plug on the left side of the block (just above the starter) and feeds back into the thermostat housing. I'd like to remove the heater. Can I just put a plug in the block and the thermostat housing and eliminate the heater and hoses or do I still have to run a hose from the block to the thermostat housing with no heater in between?

Thank you.

"Should" be fine to remove it and plug it off if it is like the one on our D179 tractor (3 cyl version of the D239) The coolant only circulates when the heater is pumping it.
