tach on 300U

Couple of years ago I bought a new tach and cable for my 300U but never got it to work. I'm thinking something broke in the distributor My parts book doesn't show anything in the distributor for running a tach. Anybody know what I should be looking for and if I can get parts. I'd like to get it to work.

Take the tach drive out of the casting that the distributor is mounted in.. You'll probably find that the gears on the driven part are wore off.

I think the tach drive is shown under attachments and not with the distributor itself. Some of those parts may be difficult to get.

If i recall the tack drive parts are not easy to come by as the others state, However you can look for at a lot of models with the IH distributor they all use the same drive if equipped. Lasts one i saw come up brought down 200 bucks... :/
