More Seal Help

I got the seal for my trans case that is leaking from Napa (#15330) and picked it up this afternoon. I am not sure how to install it. There are two pieces, one is .25" and the other is .30". The guy at the parts counter didn't know why there was two seperate pieces instead of one. It is sold as a kit.

Here are some pics:

It's a 51 super a and it's the seal on right side of trans case. I destroyed the old getting it out but it was one piece. Thanks

Assuming 51 super A's are the same as the 48's...

The original seal would have been a "double thick" leather seal - probably about 3/4" thick.

I only used one thinner seal on mine, but I see no reason you couldn't use both of those seals in that space - as long as you can get the first one in squarely.

You don't have to - but I guess it would technically be a better seal.

I don't know for sure but here is my guess #15542 goes in first spring towards oil side to keep oil in the second one goes in next to keep dirt out. Both seals should be numbered side out.
