Some time back I saw several posts regarding members having trouble reaching the brake pawl to lock the brakes. After spinal surgery I found it almost impossible to lock the brakes, so fabricated a very simple but effective method to engage the pawl. I have used it on my M loader tractor for several years and it has never failed. It lays just below your right hand, so much easier on the back. I'm using this method to see if there is any interest and if so, I will build a few and offer them on the For Sale side.

I thought maybe "His Majesty's" brake pawl actuator. Guy that runs along beside the tractor and sets the brake as needed.

I keep threatening to copy the one on my 560, but I am too busy locking the brake (and many other things) to do it.

Hate to burst your bubble, but several inventors thru the last 50-60 years have beat you to it. I have my dad"s H and it had such a device installed in the early 1950s.
Sorry to disappoint...take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning.

LA in WI: Thank you. I am aware that there are other devices out there, but was offering mine because it is simple, inexpensive, and to install it only requires removing and replacing one pin. Also, becausse of the post I saw, obviously a number of owners were looking for some device to eliminate having to reach so far to set the pawl.
 
I made the one on my 46 H out of an old choke rod, used an L bracket attached to the light bar, painted it up....wah...lah !!

Please post a picture of your design. Seeing it would be a great service to our friends on this board.
I have my dad"s H and it has had one since the mid-1950s; if I could figure out how to send a picture I would do so.
