pulling a ih 770 5/16 plow on land???? is it possible?

Looking at a 5/16 770 pull plow that I would like to pull on land with an 806 wheatland, does anyone know if I can move the hitch enough to get the job done and still pull straight???

Thanks, Junky

Keep in mind that even if you get it set up to do this a narrow plow like this (relatively speaking) will pull harder on-land than in-furrow since there will be a lot of sideways force going into the landsides.

they do make a longer landside that takes 2 wear pads. It won't reduce the side draft, but it should lower the wear rate by distributing the pressure to a larger surface.

You've got nothing to lose by trying, right? I mean, you've already got the tractor, and you've already got the plow. It's an easy job to adjust the hitch, so if it doesn't work, you can always put it back right out in the field.

For the record, I think it'll work just fine.
