Hey done restoreing 1948 Farmall H i sent a piece Alluminize pipe to a chrome plater ? will it turn tractor runs great it will be for show and parades it will not be worked it belonged to my Dad I also have a infraed temp gage to ck manifold temp plus pipe comeing out of manifold Thanks for the help

I think the question is will a chrome pipe turn blue,even during occational noload use.Answer is,Yes I think it will.

I used a piece of stainless steel 3 inch from a Milking pipeline from a barn. and polished it up like chrome. I have it on a 560 now and it hasn't turned blue yet. But if it does, I heard it is real easy to polish out again. The trick is, is to "double wall" it. Stick another pipe in side of that one, that will take most of the heat, and your shiny outside pipe should stay nice.

Chrome will turn blue.
Stainless will not.

Brass-O will keep a chrome pipe from turning blue, but you need to polish it often.
