Front Wheels

We have a 1947 Farmall H. The front wheels started wobbling quite bad. It had been steering good, I am wondering if there is an adjustment on the steering sector to tighten it up. We adjusted the wheel bearings but this did not fix it. Thanks for any help. Randy

Check to see if the pipe cap came loose on the front end of the steering shaft worm gear or if the key fell out of the U joint. Either of those could account for sudden wobble. Feel the mechanism as you turn it and you may be able to isolate where the looseness is.

Our H started to wobble when the wheel bearings got bad/loose I'd check that out too!

Thanks Zack, WE will Give that a try today. If that was the problem I'll get back to you. I'am wondering how often a worn out worm gear is the problem. Randy
