Ok, don't know what to say....

This is EXACTLY what I wanted... we got it home today, but it's 103 degrees so we'll start putting it back together next week.

No way we will make RPRU guys, but I think we'll come down at least one day to check it out. There is NO way I will RUSH this getting done.

As someone said last week "if it's worth doing, then it's worth OVER doing"

This one is for you dad!

Read the story... see LOTS more photos

LOL

DAMN I want make RPRU, we'll just have to see how things go. ZERO promises, friends.

LAST thing we will do is rush this...

SO excited, I just upload 20 pics to

It will go together WAY quicker than it came apart. I'm not worried, you will make it.

I don't want to be a dick, but your wheel weights are on wrong. They should be turned 90 degrees. I can't see yours, but don't forget to flip them so the hand holds are both in the same direction/spot. If they are 180 off the hand holds wont be the same. I have four sets on my SMTA and I have to take them off to get them lined up right...I didn't realize they were screwed up until this spring.

489 us correct about the weights you would not be able to change bolts on the axle if one was to come loose or brake, but it really looks good what year is it and where was it bought at.

Yes those are wrong colby.

Like he said the wide opening in the middle should be turned. Long part of the oval should be so you can easily get a wrench on the wheel axle clamps.

Your's are off 90 degrees.

I wouldn't worry about it but as much work as you have put into the 560 you might as well have them right.

Sflem if you are going to be picky about the great looking job I guees I will point out something also. The wheel weights are not ones made the same years as a 560. I or most people don't care though, its your tractor. Glad to see someone else interested in old tractors.

what's different?

I know two of those rear weights have been on the tractor since late 70's

Here's an old picture with me on it :)

When IH started making 8 spoke cast wheels they changed the weights. Two more outer bolt holes are in them. After the casting # on the weights they have DA instead just a D.
Don't worry about it, most don't know or care about that. Lots of tractors around with those weights and 6 spoke type wheel weights.

thx for info...

I am going to rotate them 90 degrees, that needs to be done. Those turned out SO well, huge time/cost to having those re-worked.... but castings & weight look amazing.

:)

Thanks. You taught me something! I have a few sets around here...like 7. I will have to check them out and see if I have any newer ones.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk! I gave the disclaimer. I was just pointing out that there was a right way and a righter way. I had it wrong in the past and learned from the experience. That tractor looks very nice, but Colby seems to be into getting all the little things correct as well as the major ones.

Just me with this, when this is over you will either like this tractor or you won't and many people won't. We are doing MANY things that are NOT 100% original either, from the castings & weights, fancy paint work, ceramic manifolds, new exposed wiring/hoses, LED lights, etc etc

Honestly this is how tractors are made today, NO over spray everywhere, great FIT and FINISH...

I really like all the comments and I have got a LOT of help from you guys and i thank you ALL for your help.

Seroiusly...what's not to like ??? As someone said earlier
MUSEUM QUALITY !! As my dad used to say
" If you had time to do it twice, you had time to do it right the first time!!"
I would say you did it right the first time.

thanks!!!

Im so thankful to be able to do this project....We saw Max Armstrong's Heritage Tractor Drive tractors and we both thought we needed to re-do our 560. I do remember when my dad and I decided to do this project, I told him we need to do it right!

He passed away few weeks later, that will be two yrs later this month.

So to say the very least Im super proud of this project. Had few great friends who have helped so much, I'm thankful.

Colby, it looks great! I enjoyed going through the album you have as well. (I also like the train cars in the background of a couple pictures of the block).

What area are you in... a paint shop like that would be nice to have near by...

Paint shop who did the chassis is in Carlock IL Piercy Auto Body... the guys did a GREAT job, took lots of pride with their workmanship.

Local guys (who work with me) did the hoods & fenders, and the "working" of the weights. They have been painting tractors for ever.. it's shows. The hoods & fenders are unreal.

Tractor "shop" is at a friend of mine's in Morton IL. We did SO SO much prep before paint and tons of little things that really make it a special tractor.

thanks, it's exciting to see this about done. You should see all the new parts waiting to go on, it's crazy.

A W E S O M E ! Rebuild. That is how a restore should be done. Not a "Krylon Overhaul" like many do. That is not a 1962 560, it is a 2012 560!

CT

thanks guys!!!

One thing is for sure, it will be shown here first here when it's done :)

Will be working on this week, I'll keep you all posted.
