what can any one tell me about an m&w live pto kit for an M? are they very common? work good? ease of installation? what one would be worth?

any info would be appreciated

Useful if you can find one. It is not a live PTO, it just allows you to stop movement of the tractor and leave the PTO running. You still have to disenage the main clutch and allow the PTO to stop turning before you can shift gears. Good for baling hay, etc where overloading the baler is common.
 
so it actually cuts of the power to the ground? would still have to use clutch pedal if had it on an auger or some other stationary implement?
 
In my opinion they are extremely useful. I have two M's with this attachment. Some uses are to slow down when using the finish mower, stopping and starting with the chipper mounted when cleaning up fence rows. It is a lot easier when a lot of clutch use is needed. The best advantage is that it is fairly easy to work on. It is basically a bunch of fiber discs and metal discs held together with a spring. Ellis
 
well if some one is looking for one there is one on ebay...i dont think i really have a use for that, i was thinkin it would be more like an independent pto
