This is our third crop. I think the picture speaks for itself.

What neck of the country are you in? Not even that good just west of Indy in Hendricks County. Totally burned up.

East of Janesville, WI. The field across the road looks worse, but I shot this picture from the seat of the '53 SH on the fly when we were baling straw. It was too hot to go to the extra work of going across the road.

Might as well talk about the heat and our baling. Today was intolerable. Yesterday was pretty hot, but do able. Supposedly the temperature was the same both days, but today was WAY more humid and less wind. I think we baled 7 loads yesterday and we could only handle 3 today. Neither day was all that great, but it worked.

Here west of Elmwood Wisconsin ours looks much better than that. We"ve not been really short on rain, and ours is mostly grass horse hay on clay loam that holds water well. The neighbor"s corn and beans are doing very well.

(quoted from post at 17:04:02 07/06/12) Got to get that 9 out there ;)

The old farmer I help is pretty excited to pull the four bottom out of the shed and break it in. Too bad it is in 100+ pieces.
