1066 pto clutch

My pto is starting to stop and start at its own time line. It will stop altogether and then will start again. I am assuming that a clutch pack is needed, but can;t figure out why it runs fine at times and is dead for a while. Any ideas on where I need to go to get it working reliably again?

Checked your transmisson oil latey?On all my tractors,the pto will stop long before the other systems are affected.

does it make a difference if you are going up or down hill? sometimes the gasket around the pickup tube goes bad and it sucks air when the tractor is on a downhill slope.

Just added oil to the proper place. The slope angle might be a factor. How would that be fixed?

Could be a loose pick up tube and leaking seal when setting level it will work and when going up hill but quiet when going down even a slight grade even if the oil level is at the mark.
