My pto lever will not stay in on position , results in immediate disengagement under any load with accompanying grinding of pto gears. any thoughts. I haven't been successful at finding any pto parts other than the cover. Any thoughts would be a great help.
 
I would just replace the whole PTO with a used one. 5 bolts I think and it just pops right out, park it with the front end a couple of feet lower or drain the gear oil first. Here is a cheap one on ebay, I'm sure they can be had from other places too.

That tractor is a mess! Why don't people wash these things before they rip them apart? Wouldn't that make them a lot nicer to work on?
