Fast Hitch to 3pt adapter

I picked up the fast hitch points off a junked sickle mower over the weekend, and I want to build a 3pt adapter.

Ideally I want to replicate that rare 3pt adapter unit with the arch for the top link. Dimensions would be great but if anyone has any good pictures I can work from those.

If I end up going with simple plug-in adapters, what's a good distance from the end of the point to locate the ball socket?

This is the deal I'm looking to replicate. Thanks Idaho Ron for the picture:

I will have to look - I think I have one of those at the farm. I'll get a picture when I go there in the morning.

Thanks! That would be awesome, especially a side-on view!

The isometric I posted above is *almost* enough info, but it doesn't show the angle between the points and the arch.

Another idea I had was getting a cheap quick hitch from Harbor Freight (I have a 20% off coupon), and affixing that to the points.

I have been a HF fanatic lately. I have the 1" socket set and I am going to buy the 3/4" next time I am in the big city.

For $89.99 then 20% off for $71.99 I don't think I would try to fab my own.

I have one of those adapters and use it with my 350. In order to get a finer pitch adjustment I am thinking about making a new top link with a strap that has staggered holes instead of holes all in a line. This would allow me to "split the difference" and get more adjustments. (Besides, my link is actually a Cat 2 and I have to use an adapter bushing since all my tools are Cat 1.) A person would have to make sure that his implements have enough depth below the third link pin since the strap will hang down farther when using the upper row of holes. Just an idea for you if you are building your own from scratch. Wouldn't look as original but it might make it more functional.

I have one in the yard, if I remember I should be able to get
pics/measurements from it tomorrow evening if that'll help? Sam

I have original 2-3 adapters for both my SC and 300. They work but not great. I have fabricated top link attachments on both tractors and use the conversion points. I like that better than the adapters.

I'm slowly collecting original fast hitch implements. That is the way to go!

I still have that C20 plow and can deliver to the Red Power if that works for you.

There are two types. Prong and prongless. The latter replaces the sockets on the 350-450 hitch and later. The arches in both appear to be made with spring steel as the edges are radiused.

mkirsch: I have one of those adapters pictured above on one of my 350"s.. I"ll be back in a couple days if you need a measurment. I also have abother brand build much stronger.. used on 656

Wardner, you're pretty darn creative. Anyone else is welcome to chime in too:

How would you mount one of those quick hitches to some fast hitch points so that it was supported by ONLY the points, and still had some pitch adjustment?

The points I have are the entire U-shaped assembly from the sickle mower, with the solid round cross bar. Plenty to work with.

Top link is the "easy way out," except for finding a place to mount it on the Super C. Not really sure how to go about that.

Unless you just want the challenge to fab one up, I have one of those adapters I'll sell you and you won't have to worry about making one.
Can bring it to RPRU if you are going. Email me if interested.(Please don't blast me for this reply; just trying to help)

Thanks for the offer but RPRU is a little too far. I hadn't planned on being there. Maybe next year when it's in Ohio.

This is the top link bracket on my SC. Works perfect. It was on the tracor when I got it and looks to have been profesionally done.
