SMD running

This tractor starts and runs good on the gas side but dies out as soon as you switch to diesel. I have the right amont of fuel pump pressure and plenty of fuel in the tank and comeing to the pump but no fuel to the injecters. This tractor was last run Sept.2011 and stored inside. Any help is appreciated in order to get this to run on diesel.

As silly as this sounds, I sometimes forget to raise the diesel throttle when I switch over. Did it yesterday! Creates symptoms exactly as you describe. John

Sounds like the plunger in the pump is stuck. The pressure on the gauge reads form the transfer pump.

I agree it is easy to fix, and does not need to be rebuilt or spread out on the bench. Removing the side cover should let you see the plunger and if it does not move when cranking, it needs to. I have used a tiny amount of carb spray, and a rag to keep it where it belongs to free mine after 4 years of not running. Jim

if you switch from gas to diesel with out the engine running does the switch lever click and stay? I had the problem where the lever would not click ,It was the linkage going threw the head was stuck, PB blaster solved the problem

I pressure washed mine before a tractor pull the first year I had mine and that happened. The linkage got sticky and wouldn't switch without a little help.
