1947 Farmall A steering

I am replacing the tie rods, tie rod ends, front wheel bearings, etc. because at speed the A becomes unstable and steering is impossible. Any other suggestions ????

The tierods can be adjusted for play and if they are egged shaped a little work with a disc grinder they can be rounded again. The steering sector mite need some bushings, seals and a bearing. The output shaft also mite be loose. You realy need to start with the steering secteor first then work back to the tierods and bearings probably just need to be repacked and adjusted. Check the spindles to make sure the grease is getting to the bottom. Ive done a bunch and ended ip with good results.

On my 140 ( the same as the A ) it had a warren woodruff key in the stearing sector. we replaced that and it is nice and tight now. Bob
