The carb came yesterday but I didn't have time to put it on till
today. Cleaned the needle and seat and the bowl out after it
wouldn't let gas through and then it ran but surged and
sputtered. I've got a carb kit ordered and will do a proper
cleaning and rebuild and try again. When I went to put the carb
on I realized that the arm from the governor that opens and
closes the butterfly was broken off and missing, so I hooked it
up with a piece of stiff wire. I don't know what it is supposed to
look like, but I will check the book tomorrow and see what I can
find out. I have a suspicion that there is supposed to be a spring
in there somewhere. It did run long enough to try the touch
control, which worked fine, and to drive it a short distance in
reverse and 1st.

Type: "FARMALL GOVERNOR ARM A B C SUPER 100 200 230 NEW 6507DA" into an eBay search and it will come up. $57 bucks,yikes!

I may have one but will have to look. It'll be Sat before I get a chance.

Even though you set the float to spec, you'll have to fine tune the float level several times. We had to go 3 times to get it to not blow smoke or starve/ sputter. This is a Zenith carb.
