Decals for my A

What decals would I need for a 1947 Farmall A? I guess it would be the set with the IH before farmall, would it be the plain A or the A with culti-vision? I thought all A's were Culti-vision. Thanks for any help.

i had the same problem wich ones that belonged for the year. but cultivion was for high crop. this site mite have more information .1945 sticks in mind

CNKS is correct. The 47 Farmall should have McCormick Deering over Farmall. All Farmall A's and Super A's were and should have the Cultivision A. International A's did not have the cultivision on the A decal.

When I restored this Farmall A in 1975-1976 I purchased the decals from our local IH dealer.
It has McCormick over the Farmall. Hal

eplacement decals from IH will have the latest style substituted for the earlier one. They do the same thing with parts.

I am ready to put the decals on my 1945 A now. According to The Originality Guide Book, it says pre-1945 A tractors were McCormick Deering without the IH and sometime in 1946 they added the IH to the McCormick Deering... So, what one does the 1945 version get??? Whatever you think looks best?

Flip a coin. Maple Hunter decals catalog used to use 1945 for the IH -- you might call them at 812-894-9759, and buy your decals from them, they are the best there is. You can also look at casting numbers in the form of 1*8*O Jan 8, 1945. If most are early in the year they probably had no IH, if late in the year probably did have IH, in the middle, your choice.

In Guy's general chapter, he indicates the decal change as some time in 1946, and that January 1947 is probably a good date for the changes going on the tractors. In any case, a 1945 tractor probably didn't have the IH.

I did purchase them from Maple Hunter... I ordered the set with the IH...I can always cut that off and use the rest. Oh, well...it is always interesting working on these old gals!
