I recently purchased a '39 F-20 wide tread and was curious about how the late F-20's were sometimes fitted with hydraulics and an electric starter/charging system. Is there a site that would explain those adaptations?

Most F-20 hydralic systems were simply M/H belly pumps hung underneath. There was a 'kit' made by Hiesler,MW,etc.Electric starters were also a 'kit' made by Hiesler, others. To the best of my knowledge,IH never offered hydralics or starters for F-20s.They did however offer 'elevtric lighting kits' for those tractors.

International did offer a field upgrade for the Lift-All hydraulic pump. But that was AFTER the H and M were introduced. There was no Lift-All during F20 production. Electric start was NEVER a factory option on the F20. You will find guys that swear their grandfather "bought it new" that way... And he probably did. But the starter would have been installed by the dealer, not the factory.
