Super A to 123 motor

How much trouble is it to change the 113 to a 123 in a Super A. Is it worth the trouble if the 113 needs an overhaul anyway?
Thank you,
Charlie

You buy the C123 sleeve kit and it can be installed in your Super A block without any machining. You need to measure the length of old sleeves. If they measure 6-7/8" in length you can only install the C123 kit.

Some of the Super A's came with C123 engines and have the 354898R1 engine block. Those sleeves are 7-1/16" in length and you can install an oversize kit to give you 133cid. No machining is needed to install them. You also need to clean that block area where the old sleeve seals are installed. Buff off any rust in that area and vacuum any rust scale in the block. Coat the
new sleeves with a light coating of dawn so they slide thru the new seals easily. Hal

El Toro is correct, most if not all kits have either 123 or 133 sleeves, depending on the block number as El Toro says. I don't think you can even buy 113 kits anymore.

How much more power would a 133 have and am I right in assuming that a 133 will not fit in my '51 A? An old Super C block would not be that hard to find or expense I won't think and should bolt in. Am I on the right road here at all?
Thank both of you,
Charlie

You got a ton of options. My original block was cracked so I got a later model block. If you got a good block, find a good machinist. You should be able to find all you need on yesterdays tractor store.

I could use some advice, if you don't mind. First would it be cheaper to use my block and have it machined and then re-sleeve it or find a later Super C or 100, etc. one and use it? I want more power but also a useable tractor, so how far can I go? I have worked on lots of two-cylinders, but only owned I think 3 or 4 Farmalls, one was a Super C years ago and was always impressed with the power it had for it's size. I had an M John Deere I was going to do, but I just liked the A better and wanted to try something different.
Thank you,
Charlie
