Farmall A/Cub rear steel wheel question ???????

Question for some IH guy if you can help. I have a 1945 Farmall A and the rear 24" wheel rims are bolted onto a pressed-steel (concave dished) inner hub/wheel (bolted at four locations). Is that the same pressed-steel inner wheel that is found on the Farmall Cub?

With out being able to go look since the Cub and the Super A are at my friends farm I can not say for sure but I think the bolt holes are the same but the rim for the Cub is a lot narrower then the rim for the A since they A uses a wider tire then the Cub did. I know the A and B are the same

No the wheel disk from a Cub is not the same as an A. Bolt circles are different. Center of Cub is 5 lug, A is 6. Outer circle isn't even the same diameter.

Unless you are dealing with a very early A, it should have a cast disk on the right side.

Be sure you have the cast iron wheel on the right and the pressed steel on the left for stability. I saw an A or Super A at a tractor show a couple of years ago that had the cast on the left and pressed on the right which is just a accident waiting to happen. The Cub wheels will not work on a A or Super A or B.

There is a slight difference between the Cubs center section and the one for the A. I tried to mount some Cub rims to the As center section and the bolts just wont line up. Vice versa i tried to mount some A rims to a Cub same thing. Both are 24in rims but they just dont interchange. Ive tried it twice so im on the record saying it just wont work.

Never heard of that with different cast vs steel plate rims on the right and left sides. This one is like that, it must've come from the factory that way? Obviously, more weight in the furrow, is that the reason? You learn something every day I guess.

Since the engine is on the left side, the cast wheel on the right sise makes the tractor more balanced for both safety and traction.
