12v positive conversion to 12 v negative

Does anyone know if the polarization process is the same if you were keeping it positive ground. I'm working on a B414 Gas and want to change it over to negative ground for jumping and battery charging purposes.

Polarization process is same for both pos and neg ground: With the battery connected and the engine stopped, momentarily jumper the BAT and GEN terminals on the regulator.

I agree FWIW its the same regardless. On some tractors that use a 4 terminal VR where GEN/ARM is hard to get to on the VR just use a jumper wire and jump BAT down to the gennys ARM post instead. If you change polarity polarize BEFORE start up aND THE ammeter leads need swapped and on gas coil ignition tractors the coIl leads also get swaPPED.......

will a standard 12 volt regulator work to replace the factory reg? one of my wires that sticks into the factory regulator broke and it needs replacing
