I have a SUPER W-4. I cannot get the hub off the axle. Here's what I have done so far.
Removed wheel, soaked the area with pb blaster, built & used a large homemade puller with 1" screw, applied lots of pressure with huge wrench & cheater bar, pounded on puller screw with sledge while under pressure, pounded (with discretion on hub while under pressure, drilled oilhole thru hub into keyway & used penetrant, did everything short of dynamite. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance.

Is the W4 axle the type with several splines on it and a bolt in the end of the axle? If so, they can be a real swine to remove. I got one of an AW-7 tractor with a porter power hydraulic ram to break the rust seal. You need something very solid to push against, such as the other wheel firmly on the ground. You need to be quite certain the porter power cannot shift and part company from the tractor at high speed as it will almost certainly make some thoroughly unpleasant alterations to you as it flies away. Apply pressure. If the wheel does not want to start moving, release pressure and rotate the wheel through 180 degrees. Apply pressure again. If it is still stubborn, judicious application of force via heavy hammer and large brass drift can help 180 degrees from porter power point of force. If that fails, then you need to use more industrial methods. If you decide to use another tractor to jerk it free be extremely careful that it does not remove the wheel entirely, damage the axle or damage the hub casting. Even more important you must be absolutely sure that you do not injure or kill yourself or others by this method. Many people have come to grief this way.

I talked to a guy that said that was the only way to get them off. He bought a huge press just to complete the task.

I had the same problem with a W-4 last year. One hub came off easily, the other was frozen on. I made up a puller of 3/4"threaded rod and a piece of 3" square tubing 5/16" wall. It took a month of using a 3/4" impact every couple of days to keep it tight as well as soaking it regularly with ATF/acetone. Every time I tightened the bolts I would hit it a couple of times with a sledge.
I had to pull the axles to press out the spacers so I could replace the seals.

Have any pictures of the whole ordeal?
