H soft plugs (pics)- done! Thanks D Slater

A big thank you to D Slater for helping me out on this problem. As you can see, my soft plug was shot and needed to be replaced. There was a lot of crud around #4.

This forum is great for beginners like me- thanks!

It WAS nasty! That material was packed in tight between the backside of the cylinder and against the soft plug. I spent quite a bit of time scraping and rinsing it out. I bet #4 runs a little cooler now :)

Hey Farrview! Take a big whiff of that sludge and report back what it smells like to you...cause we sure all know what it looks like! :D Glad you got it figured out though. Not to bad to fix either. Good work!

Glad to help. Suggest you take the cover off the left side of the engine and clean inside and check the condition of the plate on the engine side if you haven't already. Hope the core plug in the front engine block is in better shape.

I took the side plate and lower hose off mine and put the pressure washer to it. I moved the wand in and out of the spaces between the cylinders.
