GordoSD - question for you

GordoSD... you mentioned in one of my threads about a week ago that you had a good Farmall H tank. I'm in IL, is it feasible to ship it? What would you want for it? Got any pictures?

I have a possible line on one locally, but haven't seen it yet to know that it is good.

Thanks!

You have three yards with in a close drive from you. Two are in Miles, IA and the other is Franzen Family Tractors in Monmouth, IA. I would put good money on Franzens having one. I was just there two weeks ago and they had a million letter series tractors.

Does yours have holes in it or is it just rusty? If it is rusty you can just clean it out and seal it with Northern Fuel Tank Liner.

I've called Franzen's, but I haven't driven up there to see how good it is.

I'm fighting a really rusty tank and am looking for options in case I don't have much left after I get it clean. Plus the tank cleaning kits are $80 for a 12 gallon tank, I believe an H is 17 gallons.

I didn't know about the ones in Miles, IA. I'll have to look into those. Thanks!

GordoSD.... I think I opened up my email, but I'm not sure. I found your profile, but I couldn't see your email. Am I looking in the right spot?

Why not clean yours? I have been cleaning one for an H several days. Got the inside derusted using electrolysis. Works great; now doing same to outside. Went to auto parts and got liner for 27 dollars. Pour in and roll tank around

Depending on how much rust we are talking here, I was able to clean the bottom of my F300 with "Evaporust" from TSC. I had rust on the bottom from condensation and it cleaned it after 32 hrs of soaking, rinsed with a hose & blew dry with compressed air.
If your tank is severly rusted on the inside, a good tank repair or experienced radiator shop can fix you right up, it's a bit pricey @ $150 ( a few years ago) but I had one done on a 46 H I used to own and their results were fantastic, of course I had to repaint but no more rust.
