Farmall M Block Drain Plug

I bought a 1947 Farmall M and a 1940 Farmall H. Both of those tractors have a plug to drain coolant from the block on the near side of the motor.
My original Farmall M is FBK 2486 X3A and has no drain plug at all. Was this standard on earlier Farmall M tractors? Also, how do I drain the block of coolant? Thanks in advance,

I thought all of them had drain plugs. Could be wrong though as I have never been that close to any of the real early '39s.

Are you sure the drain plug is not just broken off flush with the block?

That's the hole that's smack in the middle of the left side of the block right?

What size is that hole? 3/8 NPT, right?

My 39 M has the drain plug and is S#2249. Same # on motor and also stamped on top or right side rail just behind radiater. All origional. Buck

Well, that is the problem. There is no drain hole on my tractor. The plug is not broken off unless someone has done a brilliant job of polishing it flat and leaving absolutely no trace. I'll take a photograph today and post it.
The drain hole on the other two tractors is 3/8" British Standard Pipe Taper, which surprises me for an American built machine. The radiator drain tube is also BSPT.

This is from memory from a long time ago but I think 3/8 BSPT is 19 threads per inch and the NPT is 18 threads per inch. Another difference is the thread profile, 55 degree on the BSPT and 60 degree on the NPT.

As always take my memories with a grain of salt as the memories that I am most sure of, never happened.....
