my 340 started running rough. I put a kit in carburetor and no change but I noticed moisture building up on the neck part of maniold where carb. mounts. Could I have a cracked manifold?
Any help would be appreciated.

The manifold gets cold right there from the expanding air/gas out of the carb - and so condensation forms on the manifold.

So that's not to say you don't have a leak - just that the moisture is normal.

Unless the engine smooths out from choking it a little - or you see black smoke coming out - I'd focus more on the ignition side of things.

Easiest thing to do first would be adjust and clean the points. And make sure your plug wires are in good condition - and inside of cap is clean and dry.

Well first off the manifold getting cold or even having frost is normal and if it does not happen then you have a problem.
As for your real problem many things can cause that. Poor fuel flow, or weak spark or a clogged air cleaner. You need to do your trouble shooting first then parts. Check your spark it needs to be a blue white and jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. Next if you have that pull the drain plug form the bottom of the carb and let the fuel flow for a few minutes. Catch it so as to look at it for water/dirt/rust. Also check your air cleaner and make sure it is not full of dirt and or water.

Thanks A Bunch for all replys. I believe it is
in the electrical side after all. Not much spark
at the points at all.

My Dad has always said that most people when the old tractor starts running bad troubleshoot from the wrong side of the engine. My Dad is an Mechanic who has been working on these things for over 40 years and even he the other day was on the wrong side of an Oliver 770 for about 15 minutes before he figured it out. If you are running clean fuel ignition is almost always the issue.
