After a full year; and a very extensive, thorough engine overhaul I finally found an excellent front-end and got her on all 4 wheels again.

I travelled out of state to find find this, then I split it right in the field.

Looks like it's coming along nicely. Did you get that sandblaster at tsc? I got one of those this spring and it seems o.k.

(quoted from post at 16:21:49 06/12/12) What kind of paint is that? Was it rattle cans?

Yes, Krylon International Harvester Red. A can of Massey Ferguson Red got mixed up in there, but I'll fix it.

I started off using the TSC IH Red with hardener, but it looked more like Fire Engine Red to me. I had the fancy paint gun and everything. I just like the matte finish of the Krylon better. I need to fix it up some, but I'll do that soon.

I take it down to bare metal, then I use a high-temp primer grey. After it dry's I use the Krylon rattle can IH red and I like it very much.

That Is a TSC sand blaster. I want to try something else now. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Funny thing about TSC. Brilliant idea, but quality on some items and limited selection leaves a lot to be desired.

The sandblaster is a generic model made in China, etc and has several different names depending on who sells it. I have a identical one under a different name. It is slow, but works ok. It can be had with different size nozzles to match your compressor. The valve on the bottom must be adjusted to keep it from surging. Also best to screen the sand or it will plug the nozzles unless you have a compressor that puts out more than 24 CFM at 100 psi as mine does. Takes more time to screen the sand than it does to use it. It is faster and probably cheaper to have it "professionally" done. The commercial sand blasters actually use less sand. I can go thru a $100 worth of sand in a couple of hours and still not be done.

I used mine on some cast and did great with the better quality sand but with the cheaper sand I wasn't impressed. I put an inline dryer on it and a bigger tip and it really worked out o.k. for me but they were 2 small projects, nothing too major.

Looks good! Farmall A tractors always look so small to me. I grew up driving my grandfather's Farmall M. I'm collecting my first Farmall A shortly and pictures like yours keep me enthusiastic. Looking forward to my brother, my Dad and me working a field altogether with the Farmall M, H and A all at the same time.
