53 Farmall Super H

Was it only the 53 Super H's that had the disc brakes, or did the 53 regular H's have disc brakes also ? What's the best way to make sure that it is indeed a Super H ? Thanks for any & all responses. AL

the very last h"s had disc brakes, but a "53 h would be woth much more than a "53 superh. look at the carburetor. the super h will have a carb that looks like an m. also the super h block should have c-164 cast in the block above the oil filter.

The SN plate will tell you-that is if its still there...

I read somewhere that the last 400 or so H's were disc brakes. I did see 2 of them about a year ago, one on ebay and one on tractorhouse.

Yes. This is a classic example of IH's policy of using up parts even if it means they produced some "mutts" as they transitioned from one model to the next.

There are also between 250 and 2000 1952 M's out there with factory disk brakes as well. I've heard both numbers.
