Hey guys, we are thinking about attending our FIRST RPRU show this year, and would like to know what we should expect as far as events other than walking around looking at the peices on display.

We were thinking about bringing a trailer since this would be one heck-of-a concentration of IH stuff in one place.

Are there going to be tractors, implements, and parts for sale at below Retail prices. I've been to some local shows where people like "Roy's Red Iron" come to; but the parts prices are far more than I could get from forum members or on eBay.

Also, is there going to be a tractor auction? I believe I remember in the past hearing about the RPRU having a tractor auction. We'd sure hate to "waste" a good trip to not bring back at least 2 tractors home with us.

http://ihcc32.com/Red_Power_Round_Up_2012.html Will
get you to the web site,Parts will be anywhere from
too high to real bargains. Every show has different implements, different parts of the country used different stuff.(and wooden and horse drawn stuff does not like to be moved 300 to 400 hundred miles
every year.) The tractors will look like every
other H,M & SC you have seen.

One thing RTR that will be there that has never been
done before is a line-up of every ag tractor model
IH ever built in chronological order. Also I hear
there may be a restoration going on. No, I have not
heard about an auction but I don't think your trip
will be "wasted"

Nebraska Cowman, are you going to be at the 2013 RPRU at Lima, Ohio? If so I would like to meet you and that show is only about 25 mile from my home. I am the one that sent you the milk cooler manuals a couple of years ago for the milking equipment display at RPRU.

I went to last years RPR and am planning on going again this
year. Prices range from cheap for the common stuff and
stupid expensive for the rare. I bought some hard to find
parts that I couldn't find any where at any price. I took
a bunch of pictures to help me with my restorations.
Auction prices seemed to be excessively high. The cynic in me
suspects that some lots where run up rather than sell too
cheap. Our local auctioneers will do that rather than admit to a
"no sale". Even worse they will "sell" you an item and when
you go to pay you then find out it had a reserve that you didn't
meet.
All in all it's we'll worth the trip.

I am only intrested in buying a couple of Farmall Super A, 100, 130, and 140 'offset' tractors when I'm up there. I am really leaning toward the IH 140. I am also going to be shopping for several sets of Cultivators, planters, etc. for these tractors.

Wonder how much of that stuff will be there and I wonder what kind of price it will demand? Knowing that all of that stuff is pretty plentiful in Kentucky (nearby), I feel like there will be a lot of it.

Also, did you mention that there was an Auction at last years show?

Leroy I ll answer for CM, YES he will be at Lima, the plans are already in the works for that show.
