H4 Mag Rebuild Kit

Anybody had any experience with the magneto rebuilt
kit sold on this site? Is it just a matter of
swapping out the old parts for new and setting the
points or is there more to it then that? Would
prefer to not have to pull the magneto and re-time
if I can avoid it. Thanks!

You can replace the coil as well as the points, condensor, etc., without removing the magneto from the tractor, but there is no way to do a full rebuild with the mag still on the engine.
 
Pulling the mag is easy as long as u only take off mag and not the mag drive with it. If all u want to do is tune it up, that can be done without taking mag off. Really, unless the points are burnt or a bad condenser, u can file the points and be back in business.
 
Like i told you at the sale bring it up and we can make it work. Do you still need a cast center for your H i have his #.
 
I talked to Rudy Calin and he walked me through a couple of
the tests he would do if I sent it to him for a rebuild and we
discovered the coil is shot. I posted this before I had talked to
him...was not looking at rebuilding it for fun but its cheaper
to buy the kit and have everything as I need it rather than
buying individually. Kit should be on its way tomorrow and ill
get the coil and condensor replaced as soon as i can.
