I BOUGHT A FARMALL 240 HAS A 2 POINT HITCH AND I CANT CONTROL THE HITCH . WHEN RAISED IT WONT UNLOAD THE PUMP. AND THE SAME IN THE LOWER POSITION.IT DOES NOT HAVE A CABLE OPERATED TEL A DEPTH SYSTEM. HELP PLEASE

i have a 240 u that was acting up. if you follow the hydraulic lines up from the hitch cylinder to under the seat, there is a small cast "box" that the lines should go in, then the lines come out the other side and go to the lift valve below the steering wheel. the box is a type of check valve that will hold the hitch in a specific spot. if you go to the case i-h website and look up parts, you can find it there. the fast hitch is different than a 3 point in that the lift lever will stay in the "center position" move the lever to raise or lower the hitch and the check valve will hold the hitch in that position, but the lever needs to be back to center position , other wise the hydraulics dead head against the end of the cylinder. not sure if i explained it clearly, its kind of an odd animal. the box is easy to rebuild, probably the o-rings are bad. get them from case-ih. i put off the self ones in mine, but it seems they were a little different size wise.

heres a pic of my hitch,
