Hey guys, does the hydraulic tank on a hydrostatic transmission need to be vented or sealed? Does anybody know. If someone reads this who has a hydro is your cap vented?

Thanks Aces. I wonder how long this thing has run with this cap. Second question. The dip stick is probably wrong. How much fluid should be in the tank? How can I accuratly measure the fluid in the tank? My owners manual said to fill to the flat of the dip stick. This is what I have but the damm thing is not vented. The dip stick is about 6 inches long.
Any ideas?
