My neighbor reared this super A up on its back wheels.Landed hard and broke the block and bolster.I am reassembling with a block from a strait A.

Where's the crack? What part of the country are you in? I wouldn't recommend you using an "A" Block. I had a tough time finding a block for my Super A, but I did. I have found a few more during my journeys.

It is all I could get my hands on locally. This A is mostly a wagon puller and will haul a arch for lumbering. The hydraulic parts will be used for spares for the other SA and AV.My neighbor originally wanted to part it out.I am doing everything I can not to let that happen.

No not a crack.Broke the front off of the block. Also split the bolster in half. The oil pan was the only thing holding it together. It had been welded before it landed here.Broke along the weld.

You need the 354898R1 block so you can have your hydraulic lift. Some Super A's and Super C's used this block. A block from the C has hydraulics. Hal

Lots of blocks will work. Like 251069R1, but in my experience a good 251069R1 is rare as hens teeth.

Not going to have hydraulics for now. My choices were fix it cheap or see it parted. I would have been the beneficiary of most of the parts for my 53 SA but I wasn"t going to see it parted if I could help it. This tractor will pull the wood wagon. My next project is to get the bucket and Pump assembly working on the AV.Thankyou everone for all of the input.

If I could find it reasonable and close to Plattsburgh NY. I got the block and an entire 1941 A as a rolling chassis with the block stripped. It was an hour away from home so it was easy to fetch.

The picture shows the better side of the break. The other side where the front bolster mounts to the block stayed with the front end. That doesn't worry me as much as where the oring should go at the bottom of the #1 sleeve. The casting is shattered.
