I have an IH 504 diesel (early 60's), and need a rear axle seal. Have had the tractor for about 20 years, and have never needed a part. I don't know who the IHC dealers are, or for that matter, who even owns IHC now.

I'm in Washington state, and am pretty sure there isn't an IHC parts source within a hundred miles. But the US Post Office goes everywhere, and its all the same price, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Any suggestions as to who would be good to get IHC parts from?

I agree - I've bought parts from the several times. Parts list is on line, give them a credit card number and a few days later the parts show up at your house. Shipping is less then spending the gas to drive to a dealer unless one is real close by.

You can also go to CaseIH.com, put in your zip code and order from the nearest dealer. As far as I'm concerned, though, the best dealer to order from and who also stocks the most parts is Carter and Gruenewald in Wisconsin--external_link. Small items are sent by priority mail, gets to Kansas in about 3 days, a day or two longer perhaps to Washington.

Thanks, everybody- went with Messicks, can't imagine how it could have been easier. They had all 3 parts for my 50 year old tractor in stock, shipping tomorrow.

No offense but have you even bothered to look for a local CaseIH dealer? They should be right in your yellow pages under Farm Equipment.
