I've got a few photos for you guys, of me planting corn a few weeks ago with the 450D, The new barn I had built last year, and the old 6.5 hauling a Ford 601 I finished getting running for a neighbor today. Enjoy!

That's a nice 6.5!!! Thought I was the only one left with love for those old gals!! Oh and nice 450 too!! DK

Actually, That truck is a lot rougher than it looks. It's got lots of dents in it. It was a farm truck since it was new, and that's how I use it, too. Quite solid for a '97, though. I like that truck. It pulls fairly well, and gets me anywhere from 15-19 mpg going back and forth to work, depending on the season. 10-12 with the gooseneck. I've decided that the people who grumbled about power with those 6.5's were trying to use it like a semi. I could have bought 2 of these for what I would have had into a Ford. -Andy

I borrowed it from a friend, it's a 290. Would that make it newer? It's typically their sweet corn planter, too! -Andy

Andy are you still looking for a planter I don't know about your area but hear in Kansas, there are still quite a few older plate type planters sitting around was it just the 2 rows that bothered you or was it the operation of the planter. I run a 6 row buffalo notil plate planter and it is dead simple to operate its only downside is having to buy the plates because the seed man never seems to get the size of seed you had last year. if you can find one you think is in good shape i would recomend on of those for the tractor you have because they are ground driven instead of needing a pto hydro pump. I don't know but i think in a pull type configuration they may be liter and easier to pick up than an ih air planter but maybe not
