Char-Lynn power steering

Ever seen one mounted like this?

Not only is it mounted in an odd place, it's installed backwards. Works great, though.

It pushes the steering wheel up about 6" and the throttle linkage binds on the hood. I want to put it where it belongs...

Does anyone know if these power steering units are reversible?

Never seen a Charlynn mounted like THAT before! But aside from aesthetics and the fact it causes the throttle rod to bind, I suppose there's no good reason not to stick it there.

As to the reversibility of the torque motor I suspect by rearranging parts inside the housing the input and output shaft functions can be swapped. But it's just a guess however....

Hopefully y'all can see the picture now. Sorry about that. Guess I didn't check the message after posting.

Hmm, I wonder if its as simple as the hoses being reversed. Next time I'm out to the farm I'll check Dad's.

Do you supposed somebody replaced a faulty Behland with a Char-lyn? As I recall the Behland power steering unit mounted just ahead of the steering support. What would happen if you swapped it end for end? Armand
