F-20 coolant pipe

The bottom coolant pipe that the sending unit threads into and bolts to the left side of the block has a lot of pitting on it. I am not really sure a new hose will seal to it. I have three thoughts on it. 1.just use silicone sealer and glue on the hose. 2.put on some JB Weld and sand it smooth. 3.braze it and grind it smooth. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

My first choice would be braze it and finish it down. Second choice would be the JB WELD which would be a easier job to do over brazing. To me the sealer glue is for a quick fix. Just my two cents.

I have had some bad ones, but never any so bad I had to fill if. I would swap it with one from a parts doner. If I had to I guess I would us JB weld. Grease the in side of the hose real good.

I tried to braze a small spot on the very end and it tried to crack in one of the pitts. I think I am going to try and JB Weld it. However, I might keep an eye out for a replacement though.

all you need to do is liberally put some clear silicone inside the hose before you slip it on and tighten it down. done it lots of times
