I have and old wheel disc, prolly 8 footer always thought it was a 37. Looking up a few parts for it tonight, realized the frame isnt the same as a 37. There is one that looks the same in the sale archives but dosent have a model listed. the frame is angled towards eachother at the corners rather than being square at the corners like a 37 and im sure the bearing castings have ih on them. any ideas as to model? Thanks, Adam

oh, got the pic to work now. seems to be like this one.

Thank You for the info. Do you by any chance know if the blades are the same size as on 37's? The only info i found says prolly in the 1950 to 55 range year wise? I havent been able to find a parts listing on caseih for that model, looks like i am off on another of my oddity missions with this one.

I've never heard of a disc blades being model-specific. I think they are pretty much universal, with the exception of the starting diameter when new.

You replacing some broken blades, or all of them? I wonder if it's a problem to only replace some blades...

I have a friend that did it. We put the new blades towards the inside and then moved the inside ones towards the outside. Ya know what I mean? That way it shouldn't ridge as bad. If the bades are super worn I would guess you need to replace them all.

Rigid non adjustable angle gang model while the 37 is adjustable angle gang but blades and bearings I would think would be the same. I would go with an 18" blade as probably what it had when new, same as the 37. The 37 could have been gotten with 16" blades that should be considered a wore out size and the 20" are just more than you need or should want with that disk.

May be an optical illusion, but is the right rear shaft bent at the outer bearing?
For replacement, I would measure the diameter of what dics are there and buy a "generic" replacement that is closest to what you have.

Thanks for all of the comments, the disk I have is one of grandpas, been waitin its turn in the fence row for 30 years. EVERY blade is wore about ohhh 6 inches or so from the spool, so gonna be a complete (and expensive) redo. I would like to fix it up to use behind the H that was his also at shows and in the field, so would like for it to do its job well. I have read and dad has told me a lot about how much better the ih discs and plow shares are when it come to wear and function, and I hate using china parts on old equipment, but is there any more reasonable US made blades besides the $30 a piece IH? at 28 blades 30 per that comes up toooooo... not much profit on 5 acre 30 bushel bean plots :)
