I saw that the replacement shock for the Monroe style H seat cost around 50 dollars. Does anyone know of a lower cost option? Is that shock size used in other applications? Thanks!

The length might be available in other applications, but you won't find it in that configuration.

Does anyone know the price of a new shock absorber for a late model car or truck?

Yes, I do (but not until I looked it up on NAPAs website) $49.99 That is for my 01 F-250.
