OK...

We are stepping up our project to seriously make a run at RPRU next month, ugh... lol My tractor is 1962 #56155

Plan is to finish up with things to get this ready for paint... lot of prep before that. So much is already done just waiting to be reinstalled like all the sheet metal, hoods, etc are done waiting to get installed, along with a pallet of parts. Gosh is there are LOTS of parts :)

Next week we will installing the rear castings, as they are done being "cleaned" up some. They look AMAZING, we did the same to all the weights 4x rear & 2x fronts :) They are getting blasted one more time & primed. Also we will get rear tires mounted on rims... amazing how tuff the powder coating is. Got the mounting hardware & bolts powder coated also.

Sending out few little things to get chromed monday. I was going to chrome plate the hood bolts, shifter, hyd levers, & throttle.

Problem is I can't get the lever assembly apart.. it there are trick too it?

See anything else we could be missing?

Engine cover, belly pan, oil filter cover, and few other things are going out to sandblast and primer.

What about removing part of 2pt for that same process?? thinking the lower Y portion.

Wow! Those rims look great! What color is that? And, if you don't mind me asking, how much did that cost? Thinking I might do a set of rims that way.

I would remove the seat bracket & battery box & have that cleaned up & pre-painted like you fenders & sheet metal. Clean the tranny top cover & pre paint below where the battery box & hydraulic lines are. Remove the steering wheel to prevent any damage, other wise I would say you have pretty much done everthing else.
Taking the fast hitch apart to paint I beleive would be un-necessary, I used a 4 in angle grinder with wire brushes to clean mine up on my 300 & I was very happy with the results. May become too time-consuming to finish in time, lots of parts there.
What color are you going to paint the axles? Metal gray or black, I've seen both & personally prefer black, but to each his own. I beleive they were originally painted red from the factory with the rest of the tractor.
I have also seen where the front rims were masked off & painted silver, and the centers left red, looks sharp, but again I beleive they came from the factory red also.

I have been following your project since you started, thanks for sharing, excellent results so far, give all your "helpers" a big thanks also. THAT is one major amount of (team) work. Definitely will be the best looking 560 around, congrats in advance.

thx for the thoughts...

Planning to have blk axles

Seat was removed to clean it, it was a MESS under it. All hoses of any type are going to replaced new and after paint.

New steering wheel goes on after paint, it's tired. :)

Really have to decide if I can get hyd levers apart and get those chromed with hood bolts, throttle & shifter. Ever had one apart?

The hydraulics levers are each held on the shaft with a snap ring, there is a medallion on the outside lever that will need to be pried off to get to the first snap ring.
Before taking it apart I would see if this medallion is still available:
p/n 369778R1, or try to remove it without any damage.
after the first snap ring, lever, &washer is removed, it is snap ring ,lever, spacer, washer, on down the line depending on how many valves you have 1, 2, or 3.

I removed my fast hitch from the tractor to prep & paint, so I could get in behind the mounting plates, and all the knooks & crannies on the hitch it self. I did quite a bit of touching up after paint & installation, it's almost impossible to remount without scratching anything, if I had it to do it over again I wouldn't remove it. It's up to you.

ummm

I have the cap off and everything else lose behind it but don't see the snap ring.

kinda leaning toward just leaving it alone, planning to chrome hood bolts, shifter, & throttle but may just paint those red and be done with it.

thanks!

cost $300 for both sand blasting & power coating... that stuff is SUPER TUFF, you would NOT believe it.
