Tractor won't move forward but reverse is fine. The repair manual points to the forward check valve in the center section components. It tells me to drain 5 gals of fluid. Can anyone tell me where this valve is? The book is confusing and I am having trouble locating this. What do I need to take apart to get to this valve? Please help?

Hi Brian,

Pull the hydraulic pump on the right side of the tractor.

You'll see two "plugs" in the upper rear of the opening with pipes attached. The forward check lives under that top plug. Use a 1/2" corse bolt to screw into the check to be able to pull it out.

I'd sure be checking those pipes for cracking tho. The top one is the guy you'd be concerned about for it is the forward pressure feed. Check both ends for cracking.

Thanks for responding Allan but I am new at this. Where is the hydraulic pump on the right side? I have been all over this baby and I don"t see a pump on the right side. I know this sounds stupid but the books I have don"t tell me where this stuff is. I am willing to take just about anything apart but it is frustrating. Is the pump at the bottom of the tranny? Thanks for the help.
