444 clutch replacement

is it possible while changing a clutch pressure plate etc. yo put the pressure plate and clutch disc onto the shafts then put the motor in place and finally bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel thru the handhole ate the bottom of the housing?

Possible? Sure.

Would I want to know you after you got done with it? Probably not...

Do you have a Harbor Freight store nearby? They have a universal clutch alignment tool set for like $15. Worth every penny.

That is THE WAY to do it!!! The only thing to align as put the 2 halves together is the pilot bearing. I read that tip here and have done 2 that way so far and it is way, way easier to assemble.

Hi, yes you can, if you don't change the PTO clutch. If so, make sure to center the PTO clutch in the pressure plate before to fasten the finger bolts. Re-gap the 3 bolts to .090 inchs for the PTO plate. Bernard le mecano
