Hydro 656 lost forward

Had to take the hydraulic lines off the front pump om my IH 3514 to fix coupler. After filling the hydraulic fluid I don"t have forward. It sounds like it wants to go but it will not move. Reverse is fine. Any ideas?

I am looking at the repair book and it ponts to the forward check valve since I have reverse. My problem is where is this valve? Can you help me find it? What do I need to take apart to get to it?

I'm not that familar with that tractor, but I'm sure there are 656 owners on here that can help.
I would think it would show in your repair book. Hal

Hi Pete!

If I'm not mistaken, the 3514 is just a 656 utility equipped with a backhoe and loader. Probably painted yellow too. :>)

Hi,the 2 relief valve are pilot type. On the left side of the transmission, it have a rectangular cover with 6, 3/8 bolts. Drain the oil, remove the cover and the center section is here. The forward relief valve is on the left side of the center section, the reverse, on the right side. It have a steel pipe secure to the relief valve, same on the other relief valve. Those pipe goes to the FNR control, then to the foot n inch valve. Check the FNR lever adjustement, if the lever, when in neutral, is not in the center of the cadran, when you engage in forward or reverse, push left or right, the lever close a valve in same time, in the adjustment is not OK, the valve leak and not close the relief valve. Thanks Bernard, but there is no cover on the left side. The only thinkg on the left side in the control valve that is used when you push to go forward or reverse. I took that valve apart and it looks ok. A little dirty but nothing looks wierd. I have been all over this baby and the book really sucks. It tells me what you are saying, but there is no covers on the left side. I have a IH 3514 and the book tells me its a 656 hdro. There is a round cover on the right side I guess I will start taking off covers to see what I have.
