Does a farmall b work well with a woods L59 mower? Looking at putting one on ours for mowing our small farm yard. Are they easy to put on? Do they have a kit that adapts to this tractor? Any thoughts or input. thanks Marc

Biggest problem with a mower like that and a B is the fact that the B sits wider then the mower so you end up with the tires knocking the grass down before the mower can mow it. You need a tractor more like the A or even better the Super A for a mower like that.

Yes theres a mount for the Woods on a B. I would go with the 306 6ft model as you have plenty of power. There are several of them rite here in our area. Mine and my brothers are 40pluss yrs of service. You can move the left wheel in and that also makes a nice rig. You will have a mower that will last for many yrs pluss the tractor is still free to pull things around go for rides ect.

when you say right here in our area do you mean for sale? I would be very interested in one. thanks, Marc

i have a woods 59 on my b, nice mower, tractor has more than enough power to run the mower. with the narrow front, it is really good at tight turns. i also have a "59 on my farmall cub. does a nice job, but at times can be a little short on hp.

The front tires always get to the grass before the mower anyhow, so it really doesn't make that much difference.

B has same power as A and is much more manuverable, the equivelent of a zero turn. B, BN, C or SC with tricycle or single front make excellent mowers.

Woods has a complete "old tractor" section in their web page, and will send you info on all their models that will fit your B. Bought a new one for my A last year.

Hey OLD wanta see some yds that have been mowed for 30-40 yrs with a B and they look just great your theory about the left wheel just dont cut it.

Guess it may depend on the yards and the grass since I have seen some cut with machines that had the tires out wider then the mower and 2 or 3 days later the grass in the tire area was a good bit taller then the grass that had been cut with out being run over
