I'm still working on cleaning up my H for paint, and my latest issue is that after wire-wheeling the rust off of the water jacket cover plate, I noticed there's a pinhole in it. Can it be patched, or should I find a replacement cover plate? |

| Replace it. I didn't find the two pinholes in mine until after paint was done and I was ready to crank it up the first time... |

Like I already mentioned. They are NOT all created equally. |

Replace it. If there is a pinhole in one place, the entire cover is thin and compromised. |
And once he removes it and sees how rotten and scaly it looks from the inside, replacement is a no-brainer. Sometimes the baffles are about gone.

New covers are available from a variety of sources, but be careful, as they are NOT all created equally. |

| Well as long as the metal around that pin hole has not gotten so bad as to not be thick enough to work with yes it can probably be brazed up or maybe welded up or even J-B weld may work |
