belt pulley drive

Will a belt pulley drive from a 400 fit my M? The bearings are going out on mine and new berings are $200 and I can get a good used one for $50. I just want to make sure it will work before I part with my money.

Here's another thought. If you never use the belt pulley, you can simply remove it completely and make a flat plate to fit where the belt pulley used to be.

in my expirence yes it will fit physically but the control lever will point to the opposite side and operate in the opposite direction.

I had not thought of the lever being opposite of the M. I should have known because that is how my 450 is. I need to have one that works since good old fashion me still grinds cob corn with the hammer mill.

Here's a thought. Maybe you could use the good parts out of the 450 belt pulley to fix your M belt pulley?

Good suggestion. I may give it a try.
